Byanjona Foundation’s work is guided by a set of feminist commitments that shape how we organize, intervene, and respond to injustice. These focus areas reflect our political priorities, methods of engagement, and vision for social change.
✺ BUILDING FEMINIST IMAGINATION
We dream of just, liberated futures. Through campaigns, storytelling, and everyday acts of resistance, we challenge hetero-patriarchal norms and cultivate new ways of seeing, feeling, and being.
✺ UPLIFTING MARGINALIZED VOICES
We center those often excluded: intersex, disabled, working-class, and gender-diverse communities. We create platforms for their demands, anger, joy, and visions for change.
✺ REFUSING SILENCE
We confront the everyday silencing of those who resist, question, or exist outside dominant norms. Whether it is an intersex child denied recognition or a protester pushed out of public discourse, we name injustice and refuse its normalization.
✺ PRACTICING COLLECTIVE CARE
Our work isn’t only about resistance; it is also about care. We believe in building relationships grounded in solidarity, listening, and healing justice. We engage in feminist dialogue, share resources, and hold space for grief, rage, and joy.
✺ SPEAKING BACK, SPEAKING UP
We use feminist media to interrupt dominant discourse: through visuals, statements, collaborations, and campaigns that speak back to power, state violence, and social hypocrisy.
